Ivey Lowe’s version of Romeo and Juliet was an all-female take on the classic setting. All characters used female pronouns and we explored how the gender change affected (or didn’t affect) the classic characters.

I was lucky enough to play Friar Lawrence. The Friar cares so genuinely and wants to lead Romeo to the best version of themself, but ultimately makes the choices that lead to Romeo and Juliet’s doom, and exploring that duality was a lovely challenge.
